Excellence in eco-management according to EMAS
Dvokut ECRO’s Training Center and Sretan grad, savjetovanja have developed a training program for achieving excellence in eco-management designed for key decision makers, managing directors and department managers in the public sector and non-governmental organizations involved in eco-management and environmental protection.
The training program is designed in accordance with the methodology and implementation of the most prestigious European system of eco-management, EMAS (Eco-Management and Audit Scheme). EMAS is a system available for participation by public or private organizations operating in the European Union and a number of candidate countries, which are dedicated to evaluating, reporting and improving their environmental performance.
The program comprises two components:
1. Education and trainings
Seminars/workshop cycles for presentation of methods, tools and procedures for environmental management implementation in accordance with EMAS:
- Introduction to EMAS in Croatia: Achievement of European excellence in environment management according to EMAS1 day
- Planning of the environment management system (EMS)2 days
- Organization and application of the environment management system (EMS)2 days
- Monitoring and auditing the efficacy of the environment management system1 day
- Initiation and verification of the EMAS 1 day
training on methods and tools for specific phase of EMAS implementation (eco-mapping, informing tools, public involvement, etc.)
2. Informing and publishing
Informational and promotional material: printed and digital publications
teaching materials: EMAS guidelines and handbooks in Croatian
3. EMAS implementation pilot programs
Besides basic elements, for each component of EMAS, procedures for specifics of implementation for various organizations are developed:
- possible environmental impact
- human and financial resources availability
- education level for System usage and environmental management standards

c) for local government and state institutions
